I know you feel violate as many people are when something is stolen or taken from them, but you can’t fight this situation by trying to play detective. You have to be responsible and of course report the incident immediately, and cooperate in any way possible.

Once you report the fraud, it becomes the banks problem to go after that individual. If you want to protect your credit, just put it on fraud alert through Trans Union Fraud Dept. Their toll free # 1-800-680-7289. They will notify the other 2 bureaus and must be renewed every 90 days in order to keep it active. You can also run your free credit reports from annualcreditreport.com or call them toll free @ 1-877-322-8228 for all 3 free reports. If there is something on the report you’re not aware of, dispute it immediately.

The credit card company would not have that information. However, the company from which the item was ordered (which should be on the credit card statement) would have the information that you are seeking (I do not know if they will provide it to you.)

Just call the credit card company and tell them that you did not order or receive the item and believe the charge to be fraudulent. As noted in another answer, if you go to the address, someone there might shoot you.

Giving out the information would be an invasion of the other person’s privacy. Don’t forget that they might not be bad people; it could be a bank error, which the bank will fix when you call it to their attention. If it isn’t an error, it’s the bank’s problem to deal with the police since they’re the ones out the money. If it turns out to be fraud, your contacting the people could be illegal harassment because you don’t have police power to pursue restitution.

yes..the credit card company will have it but will not give it to you so that you will not take matters into your own hands…they will handle it….how STUPID is someone to fraudulently use a credit card and have it shipped to themselves..hehe

Its simple, you can call them up, tell them the exact things you didn’t purchase yourself. Tell them to cancel your card, give you a new one, and they will do all the fun stuff like prosecuting.

Just report it to the bank as fraud. Don’t play detective.

I have seen (on here ) many people try.
For some reason – a credit card company keeps this a heavily guarded secret.
My guess is they don’t want you to confront the person yourself.
Maybe they would be liable in some way if they shoot you.
